TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ONLINE SALES AND RESERVATION SERVICES

This English version of terms of conditions is prepared for convenience only.  In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version shall prevail.

 

The Terms and Conditions of Online Sales and Reservation Services (hereinafter referred to as the "T&C") have been established. Hereinafter reference to the "Company" means LEGOLAND Japan LLC.

 

Article 1.  Definition of "Customer"

"Customer" means each person in Japan using the online sale and reservation services through Internet for various types of tickets or services of each facility of the LEGOLAND®Resort Japan (including LEGOLAND®Japan, LEGOLAND®Japan Hotel, and SEA LIFE Nagoya, hereinafter referred to as "LEGOLAND") operated by the Company (such services are hereinafter referred to as the "Services"). Each Customer using any Services shall be regarded as having agreed to the T&C.

 

Article 2.  Scope of Application and Revision of the T&C

  1. The T&C shall be applied to the Company and each Customer with respect to use of the Services.
  2. If any other services are separately provided in cooperation between the Company and its business partner(s) in relation to the Services, the T&C shall be applied to such service users.
  3. If separate rules are established with respect to any new services provided in future, such rules shall be incorporated in the T&C. 
    For precautions for use of this facility, Customers should aware the matters to be noted when visiting LEGOLAND. Terms and Conditions for Use of Fixed Period/Date Tickets of LEGOLAND®Japan, TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ANNUAL PASSPORT OF LEGOLAND®JAPAN and TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF "FIRST TO PLAY" ANNUAL PASSPORT OF LEGOLAND®JAPAN set forth the terms and conditions concerning the various tickets of LEGOLAND.
  4. The Company may revise the T&C from time to time in a reasonable scope and manner, without obtaining consent of each Customer, which each Customer shall be regarded as having agreed to in advance.
  5. The Company does not guarantee that information provided in the Services are suitable for or available in any area other than Japan.  If a Customer uses the Services from any country or territory other than Japan, such a Customer needs to make such use of the Services in recognition of the above matter.  In addition, such a Customer shall be responsible for compliance with laws of such country or territory applicable to the use of the Services (if any).

 

Article 3.  Usage Environment

  1. Each Customer shall, at his or her expense and responsibility, prepare and execute the machines and devices for telecommunication, software, telephone service agreement, Internet connection agreement or others necessary for the use of the Services.  Any and all telecommunication charges, connection charges or others in relation to the use of the Services (including inquiries concerning the Services) by a Customer shall be borne by the Customer.
  2. The Services are provided only for Customers who are able to operate and use a computer and the Internet at his or her responsibility and to operate and use a computer with appropriate language setting and email settings or others.  If a Customer cannot properly use the Services due to any cause attributable to a machine, device or OS used by the Customer, service provider or other factor beyond the control of the Company, the Company shall not be liable therefor in any respect.

Article 4.  Change and Correction of Informed Matters

    When a Customer purchases tickets, the Customer shall inform the Company of his or her personal information such as name, address, telephone number and e-mail address (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Personal Information") in a prescribed form.  If there is omission of any necessary information, garbled characters making impossible the grasp of meaning, false statement or the like in information provided by a Customer, the Company may refuse the Customer’s application for tickets.
  1. If any change occurs or any misstatement is found in the Personal Information of or any other information provided to the Company by a Customer, the Customer shall promptly notify the Company (Telephone No. 0570-05-8605) thereof.
  2. If a Customer suffers any damage due to his or her failure to make such notification, the Company shall not compensate the Customer for the damage at all.  If the Company or a third party suffers any damage due to a Customer’s failure to make such notification, the Customer shall fully compensate the Company or the third party for the damage.

 

Article 5.  Prohibited Conducts

Each Customer shall not perform any of the following conduct in using the Services:

(a)           conduct to provide any false Personal Information or disguise himself or herself as another person, in purchasing tickets;

(b)          conduct which, at the Company decision, will prevent the operation of the Services or threatens to otherwise cause impediment to provision of the Services;

(c)           conduct to avail himself or herself of the Services through unauthorized use of a credit card;

(d)          conduct to assign or transfer to a third party or create a security interest over for a third party the whole or part of the right to use the Services and other rights and obligations hereunder, except as specifically permitted by the Company;

(e)           conduct to infringe on or threaten to infringe on a copyright, trademark right, other intellectual property right, other property right, trade secret, privacy or other right or interest of another Customer, other third party or the Company;

(f)           conduct to otherwise cause any trouble, disadvantage or damage to another Customer, other third party or the Company;

(g)           conduct violating or threatening to violate public order and morals, or conduct to provide another Customer or other third party with any information against public order and morals;

(h)          an criminal act or an act leading or threatening to lead to a criminal act;

(i)            an election campaign or any activity similar thereto, regardless of whether or not it is performed in the election campaign period;

(j)            conduct concerning the sex-related adult entertainment, religion or politics;

(k)          conduct to act through or in relation to the Services for commercial purpose or as preparation for such purpose, without an approval thereof by the Company;

(l)            conduct to use or provide any hazardous program such as a computer virus, through or in relation to the Services;

(m)        conduct to violate or threaten to violate any applicable law or regulations; and

(n)          any other conduct that the Company deems is inappropriate.

 

Article 6.  Copyright

  1. The ownership, copyrights and other rights and interests of any and all tickets and information provided by the Company through the Services shall belong to the Company, except rights and interests belonging to the LEGO®Group, which shall continue to belong to the LEGO Group.
  2. No Customer may use any file or other information provided through the Services for any purpose beyond the scope of the private use by the Customer permitted by the Copyright Act or other laws in any manner, without an approval thereof by the right holder concerned.
  3. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, if there occurs any dispute between a Customer and a right holder concerned, the Customer shall solve the dispute at his or her expense and responsibility and shall not cause any trouble or damage to the Company or the LEGO Group in relation thereto.

 

Article 7.  Change, Suspension or Discontinuance of the Services

  1. In any of the following cases, the Company may, at its discretion, change, suspend or discontinue the whole or part of the operation of the Services, without prior notice to Customers:

(a)           case where there occurs or threatens to occur an act of God or other emergency event;

(b)          case where the Company performs the regular or urgent maintenance of facilities installed or operated by the Company, in relation to the Services;

(c)           case where there occurs any event making impossible the provision of the Services by the Company to Customers such as abnormality, breakdown or mal-functioning of any facilities installed or managed by the Company; or

(d)          case where the Company determines the change, suspension of discontinuance is necessary.

  1. The Company shall not be liable for any damage caused to Customers by change, suspension or discontinuance of the provision of the Services, regardless of for what reason such suspension or discontinuance is made.

 

Article 8.  Limitation of Liability

  1. The Company shall be exempted from any liabilities which it may otherwise incur, by transacting affairs in accordance with the information provided by each Customer.
  2. The Company shall diligently endeavor to ensure the properness of the Services. However, the Company shall make no guarantee concerning the perfection, accuracy, certainty, usefulness, etc. of the Services or any information, etc. received by Customers through the Services.
  3. The Company shall not be liable at all for damage which Customers may suffer in relation to the delay, change, suspension or discontinuance of the Services, mistake in issue and delivery of tickets or other aspects of the Services, if the cause thereof is not attributable to the Company.  The use of the Services by a minor shall be made with the consent by and on the responsibility of his or her person in parental authority or other guardian.  If a Customer suffers any damage due to a cause attributable to the Company, the Company shall be liable for the damage with the upper limit of the amount of the price(s) of a ticket(s) concerned, unless the damage is caused by the Company’s willful misconduct or gross negligence.
  4. The Company shall diligently endeavor to protect the privacy and confidential information of each Customer.  However, each Customer shall use the Services in recognizing that the Company cannot guarantee the security of the Customer’s privacy, confidential information or others because there are the inherent limits on the security function of the Services.
  5. If a Customer’s use of the Services causes damage or others to another Customer or a third party, the Customer shall solve it at his or her expense and responsibility, not causing any trouble to the Company.

 

Article 9.  Conclusion of Agreement

  1. Each Customer can reserve and purchase tickets or services of LEGOLAND from the Company through the Services.
  2. Each Customer shall apply for tickets in the manner prescribed by the Company.  A purchase agreement or reservation shall be concluded between the Company and the Customer having applied for the tickets as of the time when the Company’s e-mail approving the Customer’s application for the tickets reaches the Customer, unless a credit company designated by the Customer notifies the impossibility of settlement by credit card for the purchase.
  3. If the confirmation of whether or not a purchase agreement has been concluded or the notice thereof is significantly delayed or becomes impossible due to the telecommunication conditions or disruption of facility provider’s facilities or other reasons beyond the control of the Company or any false information error in registration such as e-mail address, the Company shall not be liable at all for damage suffered by a Customer or a third party because thereof.

 

Article 10.  Manner of Payment

  1. The types and prices of tickets available to Customers through the Services shall be as specified in the sales pages; provided, however, that those types and prices may be changed without prior notice at Company’s determination.
  2. The manner of payment of prices of tickets purchased by a Customer shall be the settlement by the Customer’s credit card belonging to any of the credit card brands designated by the Company, which shall be automatically made on a date designated by the Company.
  3. The settlement by credit card provided for in the preceding Paragraph shall be made on the terms and conditions agreed between each Customer and a credit card company concerned. If there occurs any dispute between a Customer and a credit card company concerned, such a dispute shall be solved between the two parties and the Company shall not owe any responsibility for the solution thereof.

 

Article 11.  Delivery of Tickets

  1. The manner of delivery of tickets shall be selected by each Customer at the time of application therefor from among the manners designated by the Company, if selectable. If a Customer has determined the manner of delivery of tickets purchased by the Customer, the Company shall not, thereafter, accept the change of the manner due to the circumstances of the Customer. In some cases, Customers may be unable to select the manner of delivery of tickets because of circumstances limiting the manner of delivery.
  2. The Company may change the manner of delivery of tickets due to the circumstances of the Company, even after confirmation of the application.
  3. If a Customer does not receive any tickets purchased due to the circumstances of the Customer, the Company shall make no refund therefor.

 

Article 12.  Refusal of Sale, Loss of Right

  1. In any of the following cases (examples), the Company may refuse the sale of tickets or cancel a purchase agreement concluded:

(a)         case where a Customer provides false information with respect to any matter designated by the Company or fails to provide any necessary information;

(b)        case where a Customer performs any conduct causing trouble to another Customer(s) or prevents the smooth sales activities of the Company;

(c)         case where a Customer fails to perform a prescribed procedure within a period of time designated therefor;

(d)        case where a Customer fails to comply with the manner of purchase designated by the Company;

(e)         case where, after application for tickets, a Customer fails to make settlement of the prices of the tickets;

(f)         case where a Customer otherwise violates the T&C; or

(g)         case where a Customer falls under any of the following items:

(i)   An organized group of gangsters (boryokudan), boryokudan member, quasi boryokudan member, boryokudan-related enterprise, general meeting racketeer (sokaiya), pretended social activist, special intellectual and violent group or the like (hereinafter collectively referred to as a "Boryokudan Members");

(ii)   A corporation or other organization whose management is controlled by a Boryokudan Members or a member thereof; or

(iii)   A corporation or other organization whose management a Boryokudan Members is substantially involved with, or a member thereof.

  1. If the Company suffers damage due to any conduct of a Customer referred to in the preceding paragraph, the Company may claim such damages to the Customer.

 

Article 13.  Replacement, Change and Cancellation of Tickets

Any tickets purchased by a Customer may not be replaced, changed or cancelled for any reason. The cooling-off rule shall not be applied to any tickets purchased through the Company.

 

Article 14.  Refund

    No refund of prices of tickets purchased shall be made, except as specifically otherwise designated by the Company such as suspension of the operation of LEGOLAND.
  1. When refund is made exceptionally as provided in the preceding Paragraph, it shall be made in a manner separately designated by the Company.

 

Article 15.  Prohibition of Resale

  1. No tickets purchased from the Company may be resold or offered for resale to a third party, whether it is made for commercial purposes or other purposes.
  2. If it is found that a Customer has performed any act referred to in the preceding Paragraph, the Company may invalidate the tickets concerned, at its discretion. In such a case, the Company may refuse the refund of the prices of the tickets and admission to LEGOLAND of the Customer.  If the Customer is in LEGOLAND, he or she may be requested to leave LEGOLAND.  In addition, the Customer may be refused the purchase of tickets thereafter regardless of the types of tickets or the purpose of the purchase.
  3. The Company shall not take any responsibility for tickets other than ones purchased directly from the Company or our business partner.  The Company shall not take responsibility for any trouble concerning tickets purchased through an "Internet forum" or "Internet auction" or from a ticket shop, purchase agent or scalper or others, other than ones purchased directly from the Customer or our business partner.

 

Article 16.  Custody, Loss, etc. of Tickets and Order No.

    If a Customer receives tickets or an order No. sheet at a designated convenience store or other place or receives an order No. through transmission of electronic data, the custody of such tickets, order No. sheet or order No. data shall be made on the responsibility of the Customer. No reissue by reason of loss or damage shall be made, in principle.
  1. If, on the day of visit to LEGOLAND, a Customer does not bring tickets or an order No. sheet, has caused an order No. data transmitted to be lost or forgets a mobile data terminal by which tickets (electronical data) have been received, the Company shall not make any refund in relation thereto.  If such tickets or an order No. sheet is carried by a third party(-ies), the third party(-ies) shall be admitted to LEGOLAND on a preferred basis.

 

Article 17.  Handling of Personal Information

The Company shall handle the Personal Information of each Customer based on the "Polices for Protection of Personal Information" separately established and each Customer shall use the Services after agreeing to the terms and conditions thereof.

 

Article 18.  Provision of Personal Information to Financial Institution, etc.

With respect to purchase, etc. of tickets through the Services making use of a credit card, each Customer shall agree that his or her Personal Information will be transmitted between the Company and a financial institution or others in order to confirm the validity of a credit card used.

 

Article 19.  Dispute

If there occurs any dispute concerning the Services between Customers, such a dispute shall be solved between the Customers and neither Customer shall raise any complaint to the Company in relation to such dispute.

 

Article 20.  Governing Law

The formation, validity, performance and construction of the T&C shall be governed by the laws of Japan.

 

Article 21.  Jurisdiction

Any and all disputes which may occur between the Company and Customers in relation to the T&C shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of a district court having competence over the place where the principal office of the Company is located.

 

Article 22.  Others

Matters not provided for herein shall be treated as separately provided by the Company.

 

Supplementary Provision 

The T&C shall come into effect on April, 20, 2016, 0:00 a.m.

This revision shall come into effect as from October 24, 2016, 00:00 a.m.

This revision shall come into effect as from October 25, 2016, 06:00 p.m.

This revision shall come into effect as from November 14, 2016, 00:00 a.m

This revision shall come into effect as from December 1, 2017, 00:00 a.m.

Admission to LEGOLAND.

  • There are closed days with LEGOLAND. In addition, the operating hours of each facility of LEGOLAND are different from season to season.
  • In relation to LEGOLAND, there may occur temporary closing, reduction of operation hours or partial suspension of operation, without prior notice, by reason of bad weather, need in facilities management, etc. In addition, there may occur change, closure or removal of an exhibit, equipment, etc. in attractions without prior notice, by any technical, managerial or other reason. LEGOLAND may also restrict admission thereto without specification of reason or explanation.
  • Children under thirteen (13) years of age should be accompanied by a person of sixteen (16) years of age or older.
  • LEGOLAND may conduct bag inspections for the sake of security for all visitors.
  • Please refrain from bringing food or beverages into LEGOLAND.
  • With the exception of guide dogs and service dogs, pets are not permitted at LEGOLAND.
  • Organized crime groups and associated persons thereof will be refused admission.
  • LEGOLAND and our affiliate companies accept no responsibility for any accidents that may occur within our facilities as a result of careless behavior by a visitor.
  • SEA LIFE Nagoya dims the lights in our facility, so please be careful regarding using your phone while walking, etc. as it may result in collision with other visitors, exhibits, etc.
  • LEGOLAND may request compensation from visitors if equipment, etc. within our facilities is intentionally damaged.

Attractions and Entertainment

  • Attractions and entertainment programs may be cancelled without prior notice.
  • There are restrictions on attraction access. For details, please refer to the restrictions of use for each attraction.
  • Entertainers cannot accept gifts, etc. from visitors.

Precautions on Conduct in LEGOLAND

  • Please refrain from using cellphones in areas where it may cause a disturbance to other visitors, such as in attractions or show areas.
  • Visitors are responsible for the safekeeping and management of their belongings (including valuables). LEGOLAND accepts no responsibility for personal injury, or loss/damage to personal belongings whilst in our facility.
  • Children must be supervised within LEGOLAND at all times. Moreover, please do not leave valuables and personal items (including souvenirs) unattended on prams.
  • Smoking is prohibited within LEGOLAND, except for areas with ashtrays.
  • Visitors wearing full face masks, helmets or other headgear (excluding toys and other merchandise sold within our facility) whereby the visitor’s face is not visible will be denied admission.
  • Please conceal any tattoos by wearing long-sleeved clothing, etc.
  • Never put hands into tanks as the animals may bite, etc.
  • Do not climb on potentially dangerous areas within LEGOLAND as there is a risk of falling.
  • Refrain from bringing the following items and other hazardous items into LEGOLAND as doing so may cause a disturbance to other visitors.
    • Alcohol/beverages (glass bottles/cans)
    • Balloons
    • Carts for carrying baggage, etc.
    • Large baggage such as carrier bags
    • Photography equipment such as tripods
  • The following conduct is prohibited at LEGOLAND
    • Sale or display of goods
    • Distribution of flyers, etc.
    • Photography for rallies, speeches or commercial purposes, etc.
    • Coasting on shoes with rollers, etc.
    • Wearing of clothing, etc. that, in the opinion of this facility, is inappropriate for our facility.
    • Operating unmanned flying devices (drones, radio-controlled planes, etc.)
    • Harming or startling animals by touching, unnecessary noise or other acts
    • Feeding animals
    • Flash photography within SEA LIFE Nagoya and other prohibited areas
    • Photography using equipment such as tripods, etc.
    • All other behavior that could hinder the operation of LEGOLAND.
  • From time to time LEGOLAND may carry out photography and/or video recording at individual facilities or during an entertainment program, which may feature visitors. These may be used in the media, advertisements, promotions, merchandise, etc.
  • Any photos or videos taken by visitors at LEGOLAND are for personal use only.

If a visitor exhibits behavior that may cause disturbance to other visitors, or if a person does not cooperate with the requests from LEGOLAND, he or she may be refused admission or escorted from LEGOLAND.

These Terms and Conditions for Use of Fixed Period/Date Tickets of LEGOLANDJapan are applied to the fixed period/date tickets of each facility of the LEGOLAND®Resort Japan (including LEGOLAND® Japan, LEGOLAND®Japan Hotel, and SEA LIFE Nagoya, hereinafter referred to as “LEGOLAND”) operated by LEGOLAND Japan Limited (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) (those fixed period/date tickets are hereinafter referred to individually as a “Ticket” or collectively as “Tickets”).

1.Use of Tickets

・The effective day or period of each Ticket shall be a specific day or period written on the Ticket as effective day or effective period.  If the last day of the effective period of a fixed period ticket falls under a closed day of LEGOLAND, the Ticket shall continue to be effective up to the immediately following operating day of LEGOLAND.

・If a person having entered LEGOLAND with a fixed date ticket leaves LEGOLAND during the operating hours, he or she shall not be entitled to re-enter it.  Provided, however, that a person with Combo 1 DAY Passport, he or she can re-enter LEGOLAND®Japan only once on the same day.

・Each Ticket can be used only during the ordinary operating hours of LEGOLAND; provided, however, that Tickets sold as tickets usable for special pay events or special operation hours can be used for such events or hours.



2.Benefits

 

・Combo 1 Day Pass will allow you to enter both LEGOLAND®Japan and SEA LIFE Nagoya one time during a validity period.

・Each holder of a Ticket may enjoy rides and shows in LEGOLAND as many times as he or she likes without need to pay any additional charge (except on closed days).

・The Tickets cannot be used together with any other right or benefit for discount or use such as a coupon.  When using a parking lot, a Ticket holder needs to pay an ordinary charge.

・If any privileges are given with a Ticket, the content thereof hall be as specified when the Ticket is sold.

3.Closed Days, Temporary Closing, etc.

・There are closed days with LEGOLAND.  In addition, the operating hours of LEGOLAND are different from season to season.

・With LEGOLAND, there may occur temporary closing, reduction of operation hours or partial suspension of operation, without prior notice, by reason of bad weather, need in facilities management, etc. In addition, there may occur change, closure or removal of an exhibit, equipment, etc. in attractions without prior notice, by any technical, managerial or other reason.  LEGOLAND may also restrict admission thereto without specification of reason or explanation.

Please understand that, in any such case, no refund of paid price of a Ticket shall be made.

4.Purchase of Ticket

・Any person having purchased a Ticket shall not be entitled to cancelation of the purchase or refund of the paid price, in any case.

・The price of a Ticket shall be determined by the age of a purchasing person as of the effective day of the fixed date ticket or the first day of the effective period of the fixed period ticket.  Even in the case where a person applying for a Ticket is twelve (12) years old or younger at the time of the application, if he or she is thirteen (13) years old as of the above-mentioned day, an adult Ticket shall be necessary for the person.  On the other hand, a child Ticket shall be required for a kid having reached the age of three (3) as of the above-mentioned day.

・Application for a Ticket by a minor shall require the consent by his or her person with parental authority or other guardian.

5.Change of Visiting Day

・With respect to a Ticket with which the visiting day may be changed, the manner of the change shall be as separately stipulated by the Company (which stipulation is written on our website).

6.Loss of Ticket

The Company shall not be liable for the loss or theft of Tickets in any respect.

 

Supplementary provisions: These terms and conditions shall come into effect as from October 7, 2016.  These terms and conditions may be modified without prior notice and, if so modified, the terms and conditions after the modifications shall prevail.

This revision shall come into effect as from December 1, 2017, 00:00 a.m.

The Terms and Conditions of Annual Passport (Starter, Standard and Premium) of LEGOLAND Japan (hereinafter referred to as the "T&C") are applied to the starter annual passport (hereinafter referred to as the "Starter Passport"), standard annual passport (hereinafter referred to as the "Standard Passport"), premium annual passport (hereinafter referred to as the "Premium Passport", together with the Starter Passport and the Standard Passport, referred to as the "Passport") of each facility of LEGOLAND® Japan Resort (including LEGOLAND®Japan, LEGOLAND® Japan Hotel, and SEA LIFE Nagoya, hereinafter referred to as the "LEGOLAND") operated by LEGOLAND Japan Limited (hereinafter referred to as the "Company").

 

1.Use of Passport

・The effective period of the Passport shall be as below.  However, that if the last day of the effective period falls under a closed day of LEGOLAND, the effective period shall expire on the immediately following operation day of LEGOLAND.

For guests who newly purchased Passport after 19 July 2018: one (1) year from the date of purchase

For guests who renewed Passport after 19 July 2018: one (1) year from the day following the end date of the validity period of the original passport

・Starter Passport and Standard Passport includes blackout dates when such passport holders cannot enter into LEGOLAND (“Blackout Dates”). Blackout Dates of each Passport are as described at the time of purchase. Please confirm the Blackout Dates before purchase.

・The Passport can be used only for the ordinary operating hours.  It cannot be used for any special pay event or special operating hours for which a separate ticket is required.

・When a Passport holder enters LEGOLAND, we will make identification of the person with the face photo on the Passport card.  If a person entering LEGOLAND cannot be recognized as a Passport holder by that, his or her admission may be refused/

・The Passport card is necessary at each time of use of LEGOLAND. Please do not forget the Passport card whenever visiting LEGOLAND. If a Passport holder forgets his or her Passport card, he or she needs to purchase a general ticket for the day.

 

2.Privileges of Passport

・For Starter Passport, such passport holder can enter into LEGOLAND® Japan anytime during an effective period (excluding the Blackout Dates).

・For Standard Passport, such passport holder can enter into both LEGOLAND® Japan and SEA LIFE Nagoya anytime during an effective period (excluding the Blackout Dates).

・For Premium Passport, such passport holder can enter into both LEGOLAND® Japan and SEA LIFE Nagoya in addition to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Tokyo, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Osaka and Madame Tussauds Tokyo anytime during an effective period. Please confirm the business days and business hours of each facility before visiting.

・Each Passport holder may use and enjoy any and all rides and shows in LEGOLAND as many times as he or she likes without need to pay an additional charge (except on closed days).

・If any privileges are given with a Passport, the content thereof hall be as specified when the Passport is sold.

・In addition to the privileges given at the time of the Passport sale, when a person registered as holder of the Passport during “the Bring your Family and Friends offer” campaign (to be held one or more times per year) comes to LEGOLAND® Japan, such Passport holder will be entitled to bring their family and friends for free to LEGOLAND® Japan at the date of entrance.  The date and conditions of the offer will be announced separately via our official website and newsletter in advance. 

・The Passport cannot be used together with any other right or benefit for discount or use such as a coupon.  When using a parking lot, a Passport holder needs to pay an ordinary charge.

 

Closed Days and Temporary Closed Days

・There are closed days with LEGOLAND.  In addition, the operating hours of LEGOLAND are different from season to season.

・With LEGOLAND, there may occur temporary closing, reduction of operation hours or partial suspension of operation, without prior notice, by reason of bad weather, need in facilities management, etc.  In addition, there may occur change, closure or removal of an exhibit, equipment, etc. in attractions without prior notice, by any technical, managerial or other reason.  LEGOLAND may also restrict admission thereto without specification of the reason or explanation. 

・LEGOLAND may also ask the Passport holders to wait for the admission or restrict admission thereto depending on the degree of congestion. 

Please understand that, in any such case, no refund of paid price of the Passport shall be made.

 

4.Purchase of Passport

・Any person having purchased a Passport shall not be entitled to cancelation of the purchase or refund of the paid price, in any case.

・The price of the Passport newly purchased after 19 July, 2018 shall be determined by the age of a purchasing person as of the date of the purchase.

・The price of the Passport renewed shall be determined by the age of a purchasing person as of the commencement day of the effective period of the renewed Passport. Even in the case where a person applying for a Passport is twelve (12) years old or younger at the time of the application, if he or she is thirteen (13) years old as of the commencement day of the effective period of the Passport, an adult Passport shall be necessary for the person. A child Passport shall be required for a kid having reached the age of three (3) as of the commencement day of the effective period of the Passport.

・Application for a Passport by a minor shall require the consent by his or her person with parental authority or other guardian.

 

5.Lapse of Passport

・If the fact that any person other than Passport holder has used a Passport or any other wrongful act is found with a Passport or if a Passport holder has performed any conduct causing trouble to another visitor to LEGOLAND or does not cooperate in response to our request, we may require the Passport holder to return his or her Passport or leave LEGOLAND. In such a case, we will make no refund of purchase price of the Passport. Furthermore, such a Passport holder may be refused admission to LEGOLAND in future and/or sale of a Passport for the following periods.

・A Passport may be used only by a person registered as holder of the Passport. No Passport may be lent, rented or assigned to any other person. No change of the registered holder of a Passport can be made.

・If a Passport is used by any person other than the holder of the Passport, the Passport holder shall be liable for any and all accounts payable by such use.

 

6.Loss and Reissue of Passport

The Company shall not be liable for the loss or theft of a Passport in any respect. If there occurs the loss or theft of your Passport, please notify us thereof at the ticket counter by the entrance gate of LEGOLAND. In such a case, reissue of a Passport shall be subject to the payment of the reissue charge. In reissuing a Passport, the Passport holder having lost his or her Passport needs to be present.

7.Occurrence of Change

If there occurs any change in your address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc. registered, please notify us thereof (Telephone No. 0570-05-8605).

8.Withdrawal from Membership

When withdrawing from membership, please notify our section in charge thereof and return your Passport to us. No compensation, refund or the like shall be made with respect thereto.

 

Supplementary Provisions 

The T&C may be modified without prior notice. If modified, the T&C after the modification shall be applied as from the time of modification.

The T&C shall come into effect as from 19 July 2018, 00:00 a.m. 

Notes concerning Issue of Passport

・A membership card needs to be prepared for each Passport holder at the first occasion of use of the Passport.

・In preparing a membership card, please notify us of your order number informed you of at the time of application for the Passport and submit an official document for your identification issued by a public agency specifying your name and birth date (such as a driver’s license, health insurance card, resident card, passport or pension book). If you fail to notify your order number or submit such a document, no membership card shall be issued to you. 

・When preparing the membership card for you, your face photo will be taken. Please be present for yourself.

※ For issuance of Passport, your face photograph is required.  If you purchased from PC, you can choose from "Taken at the time of visit", "Taken by web camera" or "Upload your favorite pictures".

If you purchase from a mobile device, you choose “Taken at the time of visit”.

・Even when your face photo is registered at the time of the purchase, we may ask you to re-take your face photo for the preparation of membership card if our staff determines that such photo is indistinct.

・When preparing the membership card, you may need to wait for some period of time.

・For details of the procedure for issuance of the membership card at the first occasion of use of the Passport, please refer to the explanation material sent to your e-mail address notified us of at the time of application for the Passport. If there occurs change of your e-mail address, please notify us (Telephone No.0570-05-8605) thereof.

This English version of terms of conditions is prepared for convenience only.  In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version shall prevail.

 The Terms and Conditions of Annual Passport of LEGOLAND Japan (hereinafter referred to as the "T&C") are applied to the annual passport (hereinafter referred to as the "Passport") of each facility of LEGOLAND® Japan Resort (including LEGOLAND® Japan, LEGOLAND® Japan Hotel, and SEA LIFE Nagoya, hereinafter referred to as the "LEGOLAND") operated by LEGOLAND Japan Limited (hereinafter referred to as the "Company").

 

1.Use of Passport

・The effective period of the Passport shall be as below.  However, that if the last day of the effective period falls under a closed day of LEGOLAND, the effective period shall expire on the immediately following operation day of LEGOLAND.

For guests who purchased prior to the opening day of LEGOLAND (April 1, 2017): one (1) year from April 1, 2017

For guests who purchased Annual Passports from the opening day of LEGOLAND (April 1, 2017) to November 30, 2017: one (1) year from the day of collection

For guests who purchased Annual Passport from December 1, 2017 onwards: 1 (one) year + 5 (five) days from the date of purchase (5 days is given as grace period)

For guests who purchased Resort Annual Passport from January 9, 2018 till February 28, 2018: one (1) year from April 15, 2018

For guests who renewed Annual Pass from January 9, 2018 till February 28, 2018: one (1) year from April 1, 2018

・The Passport can be used only for the ordinary operating hours.  It cannot be used for any special pay event or special operating hours for which a separate ticket is required.

・The Passport can be used only by the person registered as the holder thereof. The Passport cannot be lent, rented or assigned to another person.

・When a Passport holder enters LEGOLAND, we will make identification of the person with the face photo on the Passport card.  If a person entering LEGOLAND cannot be recognized as a Passport holder by that, his or her admission may be refused/

・The Passport card is necessary at each time of use of LEGOLAND. Please do not forget the Passport card whenever visiting LEGOLAND. If a Passport holder forgets his or her Passport card, he or she needs to purchase a general ticket for the day.

 

2.Privileges of Passport

・For Resort Annual Pass, Passport holder can enter into both LEGOLAND®Japan and SEA LIFE Nagoya anytime during an effective period.

・Each Passport holder may use and enjoy any and all rides and shows in LEGOLAND as many times as he or she likes without need to pay an additional charge (except on closed days).

・If any privileges are given with a Passport, the content thereof hall be as specified when the Passport is sold.

・In addition to the privileges given at the time of the Passport sale, when a person registered as holder of the Passport during “the Bring your Family and Friends offer” campaign (to be held one or more times per year) comes to LEGOLAND® Japan, such Passport holder will be entitled to bring their family and friends for free to LEGOLAND® Japan at the date of entrance.  The date and conditions of the offer will be announced separately via our official website and newsletter in advance.  This privilege will also apply to the existing Passport holders who have purchased the Passport prior to as long as such Passport holders bring a valid Passport as of the date of the offer.

・The shown design of the Passport card is a projected one, which may be different from the actual one.

The Passport cannot be used together with any other right or benefit for discount or use such as a coupon.  When using a parking lot, a Passport holder needs to pay an ordinary charge.

・The price of the Passport purchased during the period from April 1, 2017 till November 30, 2017 shall be determined by the age of a purchasing person as of the  date of his or her first visit. Even in the case where a person applying for a Passport is twelve (12) years old or younger at the time of the purchase, if he or she is thirteen (13) years old as of the date of his or her first visit, an adult Passport shall be necessary for the person. A child Passport shall be required for a kid having reached the age of three (3) as of the date of his or her visit.

・The price of the Passport purchased after December 1, 2017 onwards shall be determined by the age of a purchasing person as of the date of the purchase.

・The price of the Resort Annual Pass and Annual Pass Renewal purchased from January 9, 2018 until February 28, 2018, shall be determined by the age of a purchasing person as of April 15, 2018, the commencement day of the effective period of the Passport (as of April 1, 2018 for the Annual Pass Renewal). Even in the case where a person applying for a Passport is twelve (12) years old or younger at the time of the application, if he or she becomes thirteen (13) years old as of the commencement day of the effective period of the Passport, an adult Passport shall be required for the person. A child Passport shall be required for a kid having reached the age of three (3) as of the commencement day of the effective period of the Passport.

Article 1. Scope of Application

  1. Contracts for Accommodation and related agreements to be entered into between this Hotel and Guest to be accommodated shall be subject to these General Terms & Conditions for Accommodation. Any matter not provided for herein shall be governed by laws and regulations, and/or generally accepted practices.
  2. In the case where the Hotel has entered into a special contract with the Guest insofar as such special contract does not violate laws and regulations and generally accepted practices, notwithstanding the preceding Paragraph, the special contract shall prevail.

 

Article 2. Application for Accommodation Contracts

  1. A Guest who intends to make an application for an Accommodation Contract with the Hotel shall notify the Hotel of the following particulars:
  • Name of Guest(s);
  • Date of accommodation and estimated time of arrival;
  • Accommodation charges (based, in principle, on the Basic Accommodation Charges listed in the Attached Table No.1); and
  • Other information considered necessary by the Hotel.
  1. In the case where the Guest requests, during his/her stay, an extension of the accommodation beyond the date described in the preceding Paragraph 1, Item (2) above, the Hotel shall handle his/her request as a new application for an Contract for Accommodation which has been made at the point in time when the said request has been made.

 

Article 3. Conclusion of Accommodation Contract and related agreement 

  1. A Contract for Accommodation shall be deemed to have been concluded when the Hotel has dully accepted the application as stipulated in the preceding Article. However, the same shall not apply when it has been proven that the Hotel has not accepted the application.
  2. When a Contract for Accommodation has been concluded in accordance with the provisions of the preceding Paragraph, the Guest is requested to pay an accommodation deposit prescribed by the Hotel within the limits of the accommodation charges covering the Guest’s entire period of stay (3 days when period of stay exceeds 3 days) by the date set by the Hotel.
  3. The accommodation deposit shall be first allotted for the total accommodation charges to be paid by the Guest, then secondly for the cancellation charges under Article 6 and thirdly for the compensation under Article 18 as applicable, and the balance, if any, shall be repaid at the time of the payment of the accommodation charges as provided in Article 12.
  4. When the Guest has failed to pay the accommodation deposit as stipulated in Paragraph 2 by the dates set by the Hotel, the Accommodation Contract shall become invalid, but limited only to the case where the Hotel has notified the Guest to that effect at the time when prescribing the day due for payment of the accommodation deposit.

 

Article 4. Special Contracts Requiring No Accommodation Deposit

  1. Notwithstanding the provision of the preceding Article, Paragraph 2, the Hotel may enter into a special contract which does not require accommodation deposit as stipulated in the same Paragraph after the conclusion of the Contract.
  2. In the case where the Hotel has not requested the payment of the accommodation deposit as stipulated in the preceding Article, Paragraph 2 and/or has not specified the due date for payment of the accommodation deposit at the same time the application for an Accommodation Contract has been accepted, the Hotel shall be treated as having accepted a special contract prescribed in the preceding Paragraph.

 

Article 5. Refusal of Accommodation Contracts

  1. The Hotel may not accept the conclusion of an Accommodation Contract under any of the following cases:
  • When the application for accommodation does not confirm to provisions of these General Terms & Conditions for Accommodation;
  • When there is no room available due to full occupancy;
  • When the Guest seeking accommodation is considered likely to behave in violation of the provisions of the ordinance, public order or good public morals in regard to his/her accommodation;
  • When the Guest seeking accommodation is considered to be a member of or be linked to a crime syndicate, organized crime groups or any antisocial organizations;
  • When the Guest seeking accommodation can be considered as a corporation or other organization of which business activities are under control of a crime syndicate or organized crime groups;
  • When the Guest seeking accommodation is a corporate or other organization which its director is considered to be a member of an organized crime syndicate;
  • When the Guest seeking accommodation has used violence in making demands of accommodation facilities or its employees;
  • When the Guest seeking accommodation can be clearly considered as carrying an infectious disease;
  • When the Hotel is unable to provide accommodation due to act of God, malfunction of the facilities and/or other unavoidable causes;
  • When the Guest seeking accommodation is considered to behave in a manner that will trouble other Guests of this Hotel or behaves in such a manner, due to intoxications or other causes or when the provisions of the Enforcement Ordinance for the Aichi Prefectural Hotel Business Law is applicable;
  • When the Guest seeking accommodation is considered to constitute a nuisance to other Guests because of conspicuously unclean personal appearance or clothing;
  • When it is considered that the Guest seeking accommodation has no financial ability to pay for the services;
  • When a burden exceeding a reasonable range was required in terms of accommodation; or
  • When it is feared that the Guest seeking accommodation is carrying hazardous material, prohibited items and other alike which may cause of disturbance to other Hotel Guests.

 

Article 6. Right to cancel Accommodation Contracts by the Guest

  1. The Guest may request the Hotel to cancel the Accommodation Contracts.
  2. In the case where the Guest has cancelled the Accommodation Contract in whole part or in part due to causes attributable to the Guest (except in the case where the Hotel has requested the payment of the accommodation deposit by prescribing the date due for such payment under the provision of Article 3, Paragraph 2 and the Guest has cancelled before such payment), the Guest shall pay cancellation charges as specified in the attached Table No.2.
  3. In the case where the Guest does not arrive by 8 p.m. on the accommodation date without informing the Hotel of a delay (or after the lapse of 2 hours past the scheduled time of arrival if indicated by the Guest beforehand), the Accommodation Contract concerned may be considered to have been cancelled by the Guest and will be handled accordingly.

 

Article 7. Right to Cancel Accommodation Contracts by the Hotel

  1. The Hotel may cancel the Accommodation Contract under any of following cases*
  • When the Guest seeking accommodation is considered likely and/or has conducted himself/herself to behave in violation of the provisions of the ordinance, public order or good public morals in regard to his/her accommodation;
  • When a guest can be clearly considered as carrying an infectious disease;
  • When the Hotel is unable to provide accommodation due to the natural calamities and/or other unavoidable causes;
  • When the Guest is considered to be a member of or be linked to a crime syndicate, organized crime groups or any antisocial organizations;
  • When a corporate company or an organization is considered to be under control of a crime syndicate of organized crime group(s) in its business activities;
  • When the Guest is a corporate or other organization which its director is considered to be a member of an organized crime syndicate;
  • When the Guest has used violence in making demands of the accommodation facilities or its employees;
  • When the Guest is considered to behave in a manner that will trouble other Guests of this Hotel or behaves in such a manner, due to intoxications or other causes or when the provisions of the Enforcement Ordinance for the Aichi Prefectural Hotel Business Law is applicable;
  • When the Guest is considered to constitute a nuisance to other Guests because of conspicuously unclean personal appearance or clothing;
  • When the Guest does not observe the rules prohibiting certain actions specified under the Hotel Rules stipulated by the Hotel (restricted to prohibitions deemed necessary in order to prevent fires), such as smoking in the Hotel and mischief to the fire-fighting facilities;
  • When it is considered that the Guest has no financial ability to pay for the services;
  • When it is considered that the Guest is carrying hazardous material, prohibited items and others alike which may cause disturbance to other Hotel guests;
  • When a burden exceeding a reasonable range was required in terms of accommodation
  • When the Guest otherwise fails to abide by the Hotel Rules established by the Hotel: or
  • When the Guest does not abide by the General Terms & Conditions for Accommodation in ways other than those indicated above.
  1. In the case when the Hotel has cancelled the Accommodation Contract in accordance with the preceding Paragraph, the Hotel shall not be entitled to charge the Guest for any of the services which he/she has not received.

 

Article 8. Registration of Accommodation

  1. The Guest shall register the following particulars at the front desk of the Hotel on the day of accommodation:
  • Name, age, sex, address and occupation of the Guest(s);
  • Except in the case of Japanese national, nationality, passport number, port and date of entry in Japan;
  • Date and estimated time of departure; and
  • Other particulars considered necessary by the Hotel.
  1. In the case where the Guest is not Japanese national and does not hold home address in Japan, such Guest will be requested to submit a copy of their passport.
  2. In the case of where the Guest intends to pay his/her accommodation charges described in Article 12 by any means other than cash in Japanese currency, such as coupons or credit card, such means of payment shall be shown in advance at the time of the registration prescribed in the preceding Paragraph.

 

Article 9. Occupancy Hours of Guest Rooms

  1. The Guest is entitled to occupy the contracted guest room of the Hotel from 4 p.m. on the day of registration until 11 a.m. on the day of departure.
  2. The Hotel may, notwithstanding the provision of the preceding Paragraph, accept the Guest to use the guest room beyond the check-out time prescribed in the same Paragraph subject to the availability. In this case, extra charges shall be paid as follows:
  • Up to 6 hours: 50% of the room charge
  • More than 6 hours: 100% of the room charge

 

Article 10. Compliance of Hotel Rules

The Guest shall be required to comply with the Hotel Rules established by the Hotel, which are posted inside the premises of the Hotel.

 

Article 11. Business Hours

  1. The business hours of the principal facilities, etc. of the Hotel are as follows, and those of other facilities, etc. shall be notified in detail in the brochures as provided in the Hotel, notices displayed at various places, service directories in each guest room etc.

  1. The service hours described in the preceding Paragraph may be changed temporarily for unavoidable reasons, in which case the Guest will be notified by proper means.

 

Article 12. Payment of Accommodation Charges

  1. The breakdown of the Accommodation Charges, etc. payable by the Guest shall be as listed in the attached Table No.1.
  2. Accommodation charges, etc. as stated in the preceding Paragraph shall be paid at the front desk at the time of the Guest’s departure or upon request by the Hotel in Japanese currency or by other means acceptable by the Hotel, such as coupons or credit card.
  3. In the case that the Guest has not stayed at the Hotel at his/her discretion even after we have offered the guest room to the Guest and made it available for him/her to use, the accommodation charge will still be charged.

 

Article 13. Liabilities of the Hotel 

  1. The Hotel shall compensate the Guest for damage if the Hotel has caused such damage to the Guest in the fulfillment or the nonfulfillment of the Accommodation Contract and/or related agreements. However, the same shall not apply in case where such damage has been caused due to reasons not attributable to the Hotel.
  2. The Hotel is covered by a Liability Insurance in order to cope with unexpected fires and/or other disasters.

 

Article 14. Handling when unable to provide Contracted Rooms

  1. The Hotel shall, when becomes unable to provide contracted room(s), arrange accommodation of the same standard elsewhere for the Guest insofar as possible with the consent of the Guest.
  2. Notwithstanding the provision of the preceding Paragraph, in cases where the Hotel is unable to offer other accommodation facilities to the Guest, the Hotel shall pay to him/her a compensation charges equivalent to the penalty, which will be applied to the amount of the compensable damage. However, in cases where there is no cause attributable to the Hotel for not being able to offer the guest room, the Hotel shall not pay the compensation charge.

 

Article 15. Handling of Checked Articles

  1. The Hotel shall be liable for loss of or destruction of the possessions of Guests (including the case of custody of the Hotel) only if such loss or destruction is the result of willful or gross negligence by the Hotel. The Hotel shall be liable to the Guest for the loss of, or damage to the possessions of the Guest up to the maximum amount of the fair market value of such possessions or JPY150,000, whichever is lower.
  2. The Hotel does not keep money, negotiable instruments, jewelry, important documents and any other item which has substantial monetary value. The Hotel shall be liable to the Guest for the loss or damage of such valuable up to the maximum amount of JPY150,000 when using the Safety Box inside the Guest Room(s) if such loss or destruction is the result of willful or gross negligence by the Hotel.

 

Article 16. Custody of Baggage and/or Belongings of the Guest

  1. When the baggage of the Guest is brought into the Hotel before his/her arrival, the Hotel shall be liable to keep and to hand it over to the Guest at the front desk at the time of his/her check-in only if the Hotel has agreed to do so in advance.
  2. When the baggage or belongings of Guest are found left behind after his/her check-out, the item shall be kept by the Hotel for a certain period of time and after that be handled according to the law.
  3. Liability of the Hotel for the custody of the baggage or belongings of the Guest is confirming to the provisions of the preceding Article.

 

Article 17. Liability in regard to Parking

Since there is no parking lot that belongs to this Hotel, the Hotel will not bear any responsibility for vehicles of Guest(s).

 

Article 18. Liability of the Guest

In the case that the Hotel has suffered damage due to the intention or fault of the Guest, the Guest will be required to compensate to the Hotel for the said damage.

 

Article 19. Waiver

Guests are liable for any use of computer communication services from within the Hotel. The Hotel cannot be held liable for any possible damage that may be caused by a systems failure or any other reasons while the computer communication services are being used. In addition, the Guest may be required to compensate the Hotel and third parties for any possible damage caused by acts that we judge to be an inappropriate use of our computer communication systems.

 

Article 20. Governing Language

These terms are provided in both Japanese and English. In case of discrepancy between the Japanese and the English, the Japanese version shall prevail.

 

Article 21. Jurisdiction and Applicable Laws

Litigation arising from the Terms & Conditions for Accommodation Contract will be exclusively resolved in the courts in the jurisdiction of the Hotel and in accordance with Japanese law.

Remarks:

  1. The percentage signify the rate of cancellation to the Basic Accommodation Charges. For “Package” accommodations, these rates apply to the full amount of the packages.
  2. When the number of days contracted is shortened, cancellation charge for the first day shall be paid by the Guest, regardless of days shortened.
  3. When part of a group booking (for 10 rooms or more) is cancelled, the cancellation charge shall not be charged for the number of rooms equivalent to 10% (in case of fractional numbers, rounded down) of the number of rooms booked as of 10 days prior to the occupancy (when accepted less than 10 days to the occupancy, as of days the occupancy, as of days the date).

Additional Clause

Enforcement of this General Terms & Conditions for Accommodation is effective on 25 April 2019. Provided, however, that “(2) Service Charge {(1) X 10%}” of the Accommodation Charge and “(4) Service Charge {(3) X 10%}” of the Extra Charge as stipulated in “Table No.1: Break down of Accommodation Charges, etc. (Ref. Paragraph 1 of Article 2 and Paragraph 1 of Article 12)” shall become effective on 1 May 2019.  Date of accommodation is used as the basis for Accommodation Contract.  Please be advised that this General Terms & Conditions for Accommodation is subject to change without notice. If any change is made to the content of the General Terms & Conditions for Accommodation, the revised General Terms & Conditions for Accommodation will only be applicable to the contract agreement executed after such change.
